International Organization for
Standardization (ISO)

ISO is a
network of national standards institutes from 146 countries
working in partnership with international organizations,
governments, business and consumer representatives. ISO acts as
a bridge between public and private sectors and sets global
standards for: efficiency, safety, cleanliness, quality,
technology, environmental legislation and trade, among a
variety of other standards. ISO works within the realms of
business, government and society.
The organization has a number of
different certificates for meeting specific
standards.
The ISO 9001:2000 is concerned
with "quality management". This refers to what an organization
does to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer and
regulatory requirements continually to improve its
performance.

quality requirements in business to business

The
Kashruth Council of Canada (Kosher
Certificate)

The Kosher
symbol on the label of a product means that a kosher
certification authority has inspected the production process
from start to finish. This authority checks every ingredient,
reactor, utensil, container and piece of machinery to ensure
that nothing non-kosher enters the food at any stage of
production. Products that have been certified as kosher are
labeled with a mark called a “hekhsher” which in Hebrew means
“kosher approval” and generally identifies the organization
that certified the product. The process of certification
involves examining the ingredients used to make the food,
examining the process by which the product is prepared, and
periodically inspecting the processing facilities to make sure
that kosher standards and policies are maintained.
